Sketch Crawl-Sketches

Hi all these are some of the sketches that I did. Enjoy ;). From the bottom to top. The first one is actually of my aunts house in Mexico. I was remembering it that day on the train. The second and third are at the pizza place that we ate at. The fourth is from Dunkin Donuts. This last one I drew at DD two, but it was suppose to be a tired out person, but everybody said it looked like a homeless person. LOL.

thanks Gabe

Opps! I forgot to add this picture to my previous post. Here's another group photo- this time with Gabe- he's the one who put the show together. So, thanks Gabe! here's an article about how it became: http://www.pioneerlocal.com/parkridge/entertainment/396383,dc-animation-052407-s1.article

Sketchcrawl

Here's a few sketchbook pages from the Sketchcrawl yesterday-

John & Bill Show/Sketch Crawl

Thanks to the few who showed up yesterday for the John & Bill show and our sketchcrawl! It was a much smaller crowd than we expected due to the rain and it being a holiday weekend. Here are some photos from yesterday:
Here we are waiting to get in. We tried to take a pic of ourselves..you can see how that turned out!
that didn't work, so I took the photo!

Meet Bill Plympton and got a group pic:
Then Kristine showed up, so we got another:
Meet John K.
After the 1:00 show, we were really hungry and started the sketchcrawl getting pizza:

We turned on Batman at the pizza place.
Pizza!!

Here are some doodles i did:

We'll have to have another sketch crawl soon with nicer weather!

The John and Bill Show

This is just a reminder that next Sat, May 26th is the John and Bill Show at the Portage Theatre. http://www.thejohnandbillshow.com/tix.html. We are planning on going to see the Matinee with John Kricfalusi (1pm) and then going on a “sketchcrawl.” We’ll be going around the area and sketching until Bill Plympton’s Hair High is shown at 8.
If you are planning on going, it’s recommended to buy tickets in advance, and to also get a 1 day CTA pass if you want to go on the sketchcrawl. Is anyone else planning on going besides Amada, Kristine, Caitlin, please leave a comment, so we know how many people to expect.

One more reminder- The next meeting will be at 6pm on June 13th at 6pm. Check back in June for the meeting location.

Madame Tutli-Putli

Check out this link to Madame Tutli-Putli, another great looking film from the National Film Board of Canada- http://www.nfb.ca/webextension/madame-tutli-putli/multimedia.php The interviews are great! I thought the animator on the left especially had interesting characteristics in how he talks about the film. The main character is supposed to be sympathetic like a female Chaplin, so I'm really looking forward to getting a chance to see it!!
