Animation Newsletter for Columbia

Hi Everybody,
I am starting an animation newsletter for columbia college and I wanted to include meeting information about WIA. I also want to include information on screenings and any events here in chicago. If there is anything you would like me to include to help and get the word out about things, please send me any information to cccanimationnews@yahoo.com This will be a monthly publication and will begin in September. September Meeting

The next WIA meeting will be Wednesday, September 5th at 6pm. Location to be announced later. (We're going to try to get a room at Columbia College.)

Hi! I was just wondering if anybody knew when the next WIA meeting was going to be? Is there going to be one in August or until next month?

Hey everybody! Special news that I was just told: A logo I designed for Women in Film's focus awards was choosen as this year's design. I'll wait to post the design after they have their press release.

Exhibition

Hi WIA Folks -

I wanted to let you know about a show in Chicago this summer. “Stories to be Looked at, Pictures to be Read,” is a juried exhibition at the Zolla Lieberman Gallery, in the River North District, at 325 W. Huron, Chicago – until August 18th.

I’m a member of Women in Animation, Chicago. I live in Michigan and teach at Grand Valley State University. I have a piece in the show, called Time Flights. It includes two videos about nature. “Postcards From My Backyard” is a time-lapse video of seasonal change, shot over a year, scored to my own musical soundscape. “Seasonal Spree” takes a bird interaction, and slows it down for analysis, using After Effects. Eight other artists are in the show.
