Character Design site worth checking out!
http://characterdesign.blogspot.com/
A really nice site for character designer pics/sketches/interviews. Even some early looks at Disney/Pixar stuff.

Wia Sketchcrawl!
At the last WIA meeting we discussed a "sketchcrawl".
It's all started with the John & Bill Show which will be at the Portage Theatre (the show's website has directions).
The John & Bill show's tickets are now up for sale. We're planning on going for the Saturday Matinee (at 1:00 pm), which costs $15 to get in. http://www.thejohnandbillshow.com/tix.html
As for the sketchcrawl, we're planning on taking public transport around town, so if you don't have a pass, I would suggest getting a 1-day cta pass. This allows for unlimited rides on el trains and buses and no worries about change. The 1-day CTA passes (aka. FUN pass) are available at Customer Service areas of Jewel or Domincks for $5.
So the plan is to see the Matinee with John Kricfalusi (of Ren & Stimpy) and then go around to various places to sketch. This is based on the "Sketchcrawl" as created by Enrico Casarosa. To get the idea check out his sketchcrawl blog: http://www.sketchcrawl.com/blog/

So Happy!
Hi all! I have good news. I mentioned it last week at the meeting. I got my first freelancing job doing graphics for a lady that is running for a political position. This is my first freelancing so I am a bit of a nervous wreck. Wish me luck!

April Meeting notes
Thanks to all those who came to the meeting Wed evening!
WIA has set up an official blog at animationblogspot- http://wia.animationblogspot.com/ They have basically moved all the information from their website to this bog. Please check it out!
The Women in Animation Symposium is coming up on April 13-16 at the Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus, Ohio. For more information check their blogspot- http://women-in-animation-symposium.blogspot.com/
We have a lot of events we’re planning for the next few months, and we are taking any suggestions on a new meeting location. It would be great to have a regular meeting location where we can screen our work. We are hoping to find a classroom.
Those of you who are participating in the flipbook project, please bring them to the next meeting. We will be taking all the flipbooks and shooting it all together. Several people brought their flipbooks on Wed. They are looking great. There is a nice range from abstract to a walk, a run, and a jump. Can’t wait to see what else people have! Just remember to animate something coming in from the left and exit on the right.
The next meeting will be at 6pm on June 13th at 6pm. Check back in June for the meeting location.
On Sat. May 26th, we’re having an unofficial get together. We’ll be doing a sketch crawl and then going to the John and Bill Show in the evening. http://www.thejohnandbillshow.com/ More details will be posted soon.
